After a S$20-million, seven-month "re-imagining", the doors to Shaw's iconic Lido Theatres finally re-open today with a swish new look and 11 halls, including Singapore's first IMAX's Digital Theatre System. With 11 spanking new halls of a total of over 2,000 in seating capacity, all cinema halls feature stadium seating, wider legroom and allocated lots for wheelchairs.

The first of its kind IMAX theatre in a Cineplex in Singapore will project a mammoth screen of 22m by 11m. It features the first IMAX digital technology in Singapore by providing a premium entertainment experience. Movie-goers will enjoy movies in an entirely revolutionary way – with larger-than-life crystal clear images on specially-designed screens, enhanced by state-of-the-art digital surround sound that fills the theatre with lifelike sound. To date, nearly 1 billion people have enjoyed the IMAX Impact at IMAX theatres around the world. Movie-goers can enjoy the ultimate movie experience soon at SHAW THEATRES LIDO IMAX. This is the FIRST in Singapore.

Cinema-goers will be spoilt for choice being pampered from the start of entering the foyer area right into the cinema halls. Lido’s positioning will be further strengthened as a premier up-market Cineplex within its neighbouring high end retail malls such as newly developed Orchard Ion, upcoming Scotts Square, all within its vicinity. This will boast Lido to once again take back her reign as Singapore’s most sought after cineplex in Orchard.
